Wayfinding Signage

Lynch Creek Trail sign

Plan and build a system of on-street signage and maps

The Wayfinding Signage Program will create a comprehensive city-wide system for signage to guide cyclists, pedestrians, and wheelchair users to their destinations. These signs can highlight the City’s history, including landmarks and buildings, give districts and destinations a boost, and assist with the transition between car, pedestrian, and transit use.

Safe Streets Petaluma gave this effort a boost in 2025. Working with Blue Zones Project, we built and installed two dozen signs to guide people along the Lynch Creek Trail. Beginning spring 2026, a consultant will help us plan and build a citywide system.
